After India’s thrilling win in the third ODI against Australia, an Australian fan couldn’t resist teasing former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. However, the tables quickly turned when the fan realised who he was talking to.

The series had already gone Australia’s way, with them taking a 2-1 lead, but India’s comprehensive win in Sydney gave fans plenty to cheer about.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli stitched a 168-run partnership, which helped India chase 237 with nine wickets to spare.

Australian fan catches Ashwin off guard with funny banter

Meanwhile, after the match, Ravichandran Ashwin was doing a live stream with journalist Vimal Kumar, who was stationed outside the Sydney Cricket Ground.

An Australian fan crashed the stream and taunted Ashwin with ‘2-1, 2-1’ gestures. However, the trolling backfired as the fan quickly realised that he was actually talking to a former legendary off-spinner.

His body language and tone changed as the fans stormed off as quickly as he came. Regardless, the light-hearted moment soon went viral, with fans loving the banter.

Ashwin praises Rohit Sharma for his century in SCG

Speaking on his YouTube channel after the match, Ravichandran Ashwin praised Rohit Sharma for his fitness and form after he scored 121* off 125 balls in the 3rd ODI.

He said Rohit’s ability to bat for long periods and run quickly between the wickets was a result of his improved fitness and lean physique.

"What stuck out with Rohit, that he looked proper fit and lean. That is why he is able to get those runs and get going. Even while running with Gill, he wanted a third run, but Gill refused. The quality of batting is always there, but if you are fit, you lose weight, you are able to feel light, and skill will take over. Rohit is looking a million dollars. He is looking all set and poised. He (Rohit) has been one of your best white-ball batters over the decade or so," Ashwin said.

Notably, Rohit worked on his fitness prior to the Australia series, losing 10-12 kilos in a few weeks' span.
