The IPL 2025 is just around the corner and the most celebrated franchise- Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is all set to play under new leadership after parting ways with Faf du Plessis. However, it is important to note that the biggest question remains that Will Virat Kohli Reclaim the captaincy in IPL 2025?  

While the franchise has not made an official announcement, their is a speculation among fans and that Kohli, who stepped down as RCB’s captain in 2021, could return to lead the team. 

RCB COO’s Take On Captaincy For IPL 2025

Addressing the speculation, in a recent interview with Sports Tak, RCB’s COO Rajesh Menon said that,

“Currently we have not decided anything. We have multiple leaders in the team. 4-5 leaders are there. We have not deliberated what we need to do. We will deliberate, and we will come to a conclusion."

This statement keeps the door open for Kohli’s return but also suggests that other contenders could be in the mix. RCB’s squad for IPL 2025 includes important signings like Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone, Tim David, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Devdutt Padikkal, adding depth to their leadership pool. With the Bengaluru-based franchise still chasing its maiden IPL title, all eyes are now on their next move. 

Kohli's much-anticipated return to Ranji Trophy after 12 years did not go as planned. The star cricketer managed just 6 runs off 15 balls in his first innings against Railways. Fans were eager to see Kohli back in action at the domestic level, but his stay at the crease was short-lived.  

It is important to note that the dynamic cricketer will next be seen in India's upcoming ODI series against England.
