Anand Mahindra Gifts Thar SUV to Sarfaraz Khan's Inspirational Father

In a heartwarming gesture, Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra & Mahindra, has offered Sarfaraz Khan's father, Naushad Khan, a Thar SUV as a token of appreciation for his inspirational role in Sarfaraz's cricket journey. Sarfaraz, aged 26, realized his dream of earning an India Test cap, marking a monumental moment in his career.

Naushad Khan, a guiding star in Sarfaraz's cricketing endeavors over the past 15 years, has played a significant role in nurturing his talent and fostering his passion for the sport.

Acknowledging Naushad's instrumental role in Sarfaraz's cricketing journey, Mahindra took to social media ‘X’ to announce his gesture of gifting a Thar SUV to the proud father.

"Himmat nahin chodna, bas!" Hard work. Courage. Patience. What better qualities than those for a father to inspire in a child? For being an inspirational parent, it would be my privilege & an honor if Naushad Khan would accept the gift of a Thar."


Sarfaraz Khan's Test debut on Thursday was a culmination of years of perseverance and dedication. Amidst the emotional highs of the moment, Sarfaraz shared his Test cap with his father, showcasing the deep bond between them.

Mahindra was particularly impressed by Naushad's efforts in shaping both Sarfaraz and his younger brother Musheer Khan, who has also shown promise in cricket and represented India in the U-19 World Cup 2024.

Sarfaraz's Test debut comes after a stellar performance in the Ranji Trophy, where he emerged as the leading run-scorer in the 2021-22 season. With 982 runs in six matches and an impressive average, Sarfaraz's talent has been widely recognized by cricket fans.

Despite facing a run-out in his debut innings after scoring 62 runs, Sarfaraz remained composed, acknowledging the ups and downs of the game. "It is a part of the game. Miscommunication happens in cricket”, Khan said on Thursday.

Talking about the third test at Rajkot, India concluded their first innings with an imposing total of 445 runs. Responding to India's formidable score, England displayed resilience, ending Day 2 at 207/2 in their reply.
