The former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had lifted Ravindra Jadeja after the southpaw guided the franchise to their fifth Indian Premier League title last year. 

It was a rare moment for the typically cool and composed MS Dhoni, who is never known for big celebrations or getting overly excited. However, on that day, he was visibly pleased after Ravindra Jadeja carried the team over the finish line. 

Recently, Ravindra Jadeja shed light on that particular moment, humorously suggesting that apart from MS Dhoni's wife, Sakshi Dhoni, he's possibly the only other person Dhoni has lifted. 

Here’s what Ravindra Jadeja said in a recent event:

“I believe after Sakshi bhabhi, I am the only guy who was lifted by Mahi bhai.” 

For the current season, MS Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings one day before the IPL 2024 kicked off and appointed Ruturaj Gaikwad as the new captain of the team. 

One reason for MS Dhoni's resignation from the captaincy strongly implies that this is his last season playing in the IPL. He had retired from international cricket back in 2019.

The Chennai Super Kings have won both matches they have played so far in the tournament under the captaincy of Ruturaj and are currently sitting at the top of the points table with two points in their account.
