The Lord’s heartbreak may still sting but Team India isn’t sulking. They are back on the grind in Beckenham, already shifting gears for the must-win fourth Test at Old Trafford.

While the players are sweating it out, there is still room for a little banter and it came in the form of a filmy one-liner from Jasprit Bumrah that had everyone, including mediapersons, in splits.

Bumrah and Pant Light Up Training With Witty Banter

India’s dressing room at the Kent County Cricket Ground may have been upstairs, but it was buzzing. Rishabh Pant, known for his cheeky charm, was hanging around with his partner-in-crime Jasprit Bumrah during a training session that saw limited net action for the two.

As per PTI, a few journalists tried to spark a conversation from below. That is when Pant cheekily said, “Kuch sunai nahi de raha hai” (I can’t hear anything), as quoted by News18. The southpaw blamed the loud music blasting around the ground.

That is when Bumrah stepped in and delivered a perfect punchline straight out of a Bollywood playbook.

“Aaj Duggal Ji behre hain!” he quipped, borrowing a hilarious line from a popular Hindi movie Mujhse Shadi Karogi.

The timing, the tone, the delivery, it was classic Jasprit Bumrah. The reporters, players and even Pant couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Bumrah And Pant Likely To Play The Old Trafford Test

Both Bumrah and Pant skipped the nets but weren’t taking it easy. They spent their session working out in the gym. Bumrah is being carefully managed by the team physios as part of his rotation policy. With a history of back issues, India isn’t risking back-to-back Test appearances for their pace ace.

On the other hand, Pant is still nursing a finger injury that he picked up in the third Test while collecting a delivery from Bumrah. Though he didn’t keep wickets after that, he soldiered on with the bat, scoring a classy 74 in the first innings. The second innings didn’t go to plan as Jofra Archer sent him packing for 9, but Pant's intent was clear as day.

The fourth Test starts July 23 and both Bumrah and Pant are expected to feature. India head coach Gautam Gambhir has made it clear that rotation for Bumrah stays non-negotiable, even after a tough loss at Lord’s. But the good news? The spearhead is ready for the Manchester challenge.

Pant, meanwhile, will be back behind the stumps too. His finger seems to have healed enough for him to reclaim the gloves from Dhruv Jurel, who kept in his absence at Lord’s.
