Pant and Bumrah - (Source: @Johns/X.com)
In a significant development, there are reports that the India coaching staff will not prioritise the workload management for the fourth Test and Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah are expected to play at Old Trafford. According to Sky Cricket, the two star players will be available for selection when India next face England on July 23 in Manchester.
Bumrah Fit For Selection For 4th Test
Notably, India are trailing 1-2 in the five-match Test series as the Shubman Gill-led side suffered a 22-run narrow defeat against England on July 14 at Lord's. Further, workload has been a topic of discussion in this entire series, as Jasprit Bumrah missed the second Test for the same reason.
Prior to the series, it was made clear that Bumrah would only play three Tests. Thus, it was in question whether the 31-year-old would play the fourth Test. However, the latest report from Sky Sports Cricket reveals that Bumrah is available for selection and will be part of India's playing XI for the fourth Test.
Rishabh Pant Deemed To Be Fit
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant, on the other hand, suffered an injury in the 4th Test, following which Dhruv Jurel kept wickets for India in both innings. Thus, there were doubts whether Pant would play the fourth Test, but now it is being reported that the southpaw is cleared to be fit and will feature at Old Trafford.
So far, Shubman Gill has not made any remark regarding the selection or playing XI for the fourth Test, but reports indicate that there will be no major changes despite the heartbreak at Lord's.
Irrespective of the injury, Rishabh Pant's workload also has been in question as the star keeper-batter has constantly kept wickets and batted for long hours in the ongoing series.
