'You Are So Good At Throwing!' Michael Vaughan Fires Fresh Shots At Mohammad Hafeez

Michael Vaughan, the former England cricket team captain, has been making headlines for a while through his funny and stern social media banter. He first grabbed the limelight by firing shots at Indian domestic cricket legend Wasim Jaffer, who didn’t hold back either.

However, Jaffer hasn’t been the only one on Vaughan’s radar. During the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, Michael responded to former Pakistan captain and all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez’s unjust criticism of Indian batting stalwart Virat Kohli’s 49th ton.

The whole banter started when Hafeez referred to Kohli’s approach while scoring his 49th ODI century against South Africa as ‘selfish.’ At a local media house, Hafeez said the Indian batter took singles in the 49th over and prioritized his personal milestone over his team’s needs.

That triggered Michael Vaughan, who begged to differ. He thought that Virat Kohli played an anchor innings, and at the end of the day, India won the game by 200 odd runs. Also, since the Indian side had already qualified for the semi-finals, it didn’t really matter.

From then on, the banter only escalated as Mohammad Hafeez fired back with a sly, indirect dig. On his X accounts, the former Pakistan all-rounder wrote, “Talk sense to a fool, and he calls you foolish.”

Vaughan was never going to hold back as he dug up Mohammad Hafeez’s embarrassing past. He first shared a clip of Hafeez getting dismissed by Kohli and captioned the tweet,

“Seems to me you were bowled by Kohli!" Is this the reason you constantly have a pop at him?”

While the former Pakistan cricketer did not respond to that, Michael Vaughan most recently took yet another shot at the former. He shared the story of when Hafeez was banned by ICC for a year due to illegal bowling action and wrote,

"I just realized why you are so good at throwing out tweets.”

While Mohammad Hafeez has yet to respond to Michael Vaughan’s latest dig, one thing is certain: the social media war will only escalate from here on and might get ugly with time.
