India's young batting sensation, Yashasvi Jaiswal, is making waves in the ICC Test rankings after his stellar show against England.

The southpaw from Mumbai has scored 655 runs in just eight innings, including two double centuries, averaging a whopping 93.57.

Even in the fourth Test in Ranchi, the left-hander did pretty well, notching up 73 and 37 in two innings, propelling himself to 12th place in the latest rankings.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma, India's opening partner and captain, has slipped down one spot to 13th position despite notching a half-century during the 192-run chase in the fourth Test against England.

Jaiswal has racked up 727 rating points, while Rohit has accumulated 720 points from his performances.

Joe Root Nears Williamson and Smith

On the other hand, England's top Test batter, Joe Root, has climbed two spots to third position following his 32nd Test century in the last match. The former England captain scored an unbeaten 122 in the first innings of the fourth Test.

Root currently sits just behind Kane Williamson and Steve Smith with 799 rating points. Virat Kohli, one of India's key players, is not part of the ongoing Test series and has not participated in any of the four matches for personal reasons.

This has significantly impacted his rankings, pushing him perilously close to slipping out of the top 10. Kohli currently holds the ninth position with 744 rating points, narrowly ahead of Harry Brook at 10th with 743 points.
