In a comforting update for Mumbai Indians fans, their newly appointed skipper, Hardik Pandya, has successfully recovered from his injury and is back in action ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

India's charismatic all-rounder marked his return at the DY Patil T20 tournament on Monday, captaining Reliance 1 in their match against Bharat Petroleum. He was sidelined for over four months due to an ankle injury.

During the past few months, the Indian all-rounder committed himself to rehabilitating his fitness. He has been consistently updating fans on his progress through social media posts.

Pandya was at the helm for Reliance 1, leading a team packed with Mumbai Indians' big guns like Tilak Varma, Nehal Wadhera, Akash Madhwal, and Piyush Chawla, all set to play under his captaincy in the upcoming IPL season.

Upon his return, he put on a match-winning bowling performance, securing two wickets while conceding 22 runs in three overs, hence taking his side over a finish line, beating BPCL by two wickets.

This is also welcomed news for Team India, gearing up for the T20 World Cup 2024, set to be played in June, and co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America.
