Indian spellbinding seamer Delhi Capitals have acquired Shikhar Pandey at INR 60 Lakhs in the Women's Premier League  (WPL) 2023 Auction. Apart from the veteran pacer, DC have got Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Meg Lanning with them.

Pandey, who is the only second Indian from Goa, is known for seaming the ball sharply off the deck. Meanwhile, she can also bowl handy overs with the softer ball in the death overs of the game.

Apart from that, Pandey also has the ability to hit the long ball.

Debuted in 2014, the 33-year-old has been a regular in the Indian white-ball teams since making her debut. Although she was left out of the squad after their tour to Australia in late 2021.

Earlier in the year, on the back of domestic performances, the legendary seamer made a sensational comeback after 18 months during the tri-series against South Africa and West Indies.

She is currently in South Africa with the Women in Blue for the Women's T20 World Cup 2023.

Coming back to the WPL, the Goa cricketer may not be considered captain material, with Lanning and Verma in the squad, but she will surely be part of the leadership group.
