Mumbai Indians have picked English vice-captain and enthralling all-rounder Natalie Sciver at INR 3.20 crores in the Women's Premier League (WPL) Auction for the league's inaugural edition.

Debuted in 2013, Sciver has been a daunting customer with the bat, and she can bowl at an impressive medium pace with the cherry.

The fast-bowling all-rounder won the 50-over World Cup of 2017 with the Heather Knight-led England lineup at home. However, her best act came in the 2022 edition of the World Cup, where she played two of her best innings, both against Australia and in losing causes.

In the shortest of the game, the 30-year-old has played over 100 T20I matches to amass 1999 runs and snap 78 wickets.

Sciver is with her national team in South Africa, where they started off by beating West Indies. The vice-skipper is their best bet in the tournament to clinch the silverware.

As far as the WPL Auction is concerned, Mumbai Indians have bought Harmanpreet Kaur and Amelia Kerr.
