Indian emerging all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar has been purchased by Mumbai Indians for a whopping INR 1.90 crores. The fast-bowling all-rounder will be wearing the blue jersey in the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL).

Born in Bilaspur, Vastrakar has become an integral part of the Indian team after performing brilliantly in the Women's T20 Challenge and domestic circles.

Debuted in 2018, the all-rounder showcased her prowess in the 2022 edition of the Women's World Cup, where India failed to make it to the semifinal of the showpiece event.

Well-known for her explosive batting and lethal fast bowling, she has also played in the Women's Big Bash League after playing for Brisbane Heat in the lucrative league last year.

Vastrakar didn't participate in the five-match T20I series against Australia at home; however, she returned to the Indian outfit for the Tri-Series against South Africa and West Indies.

The dashing all-rounder is currently in South Africa, participating in the T20 World Cup 2023, where India started off by beating Pakistan in Cape Town.

Apart from Vastrakar, the MI team has also acquired Harmanpreet Kaur, Yastika Bhatia, Amelia Kerr and Nat Sciver.
