UP Warriorz Women were one of the most active tables during the WPL 2026 mega auction that concluded in New Delhi. They formed a robust squad with multiple strong names.

The Warriorz made headlines when they bought back star all-rounder Deepti Sharma using an RTM card to make her the costliest player of the WPL 2026 mega-auction.

UP Warriorz, interestingly, had a whopping purse of INR 14.5 crores with four RTM cards since they had retained just one player.

And needless to say, they made the most out of the large purse to form a balanced squad.

UP Warriorz opted for a complete reset as they released all the big names and retained just one uncapped all-rounder in Shweta Sehrawat. She was retained for a base price of INR 50 lakhs.

UP Warriorz broke their bank for star all-rounder Deepti Sharma. Initially, she found no takers, but Delhi Capitals placed a bid of INR 50 lakhs for her before UPW-W used their RTM card.

DC-W smartly increased her price to INR 3.2 crore, but the Warriorz were determined to win her back, and they did by matching the price.

Deepti Sharma is now the costliest pick of the WPL 2026 mega-auction.

Conclusion

UP Warriorz Women (UP-W) played it smart at the WPL 2026 mega-auction. With a big purse of over INR 14 crores, they bought back star all-rounder Deepti Sharma and also bagged star batters in Meg Lanning and Phoebe Litchfield. 

While UP did overspend on Shikha Pandey, the signing of Sophie Ecclestone and Kranti Gaud has balanced their side. Overall, UP-W did a fine job and have emerged as the most lethal and balanced side for the WPL 2026.
