With the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 auction concluding on November 27 2025, Deepti Sharma has emerged as the most costly player bought in the bidding. Thanks to her ICC Women’s World Cup heroics, WPL franchise UP Warriorz secured the all-round services of 28-year-old Deepti.

The 2026 season of the WPL will be the fourth edition of the T20 tournament. That being said, on OneCricket, let’s take a look at the most expensive buys in India’s premier T20 league.

3) Amelia Kerr to Mumbai Indians - Rs. 3 crore (2026)

In the recently held WPL auction, the New Zealand all-rounder, Amelia Kerr secured herself a hefty 3 crore (INR) deal with the 2-time title winners, Mumbai Indians. 

In her WPL career, Kerr has scalped 40 wickets and 437 runs in 29 games. An impactful bowler and a dependable batter, she adds significant value to her team.

2) Nat Sciver-Brunt to Mumbai Indians - Rs. 3.2 Cr (2023)

With 1027 runs and 32 wickets in the WPL, Nat Sciver-Brunt has been an essential part of MI women. After being bought for a heavy price of Rs. 3.2 Cr in 2023, England captain Natalie is the joint second most expensive player in the league’s history. 

2) Ashleigh Gardner to Gujarat Giants - Rs. 3.2 Cr (2023)

A skilful Australian allrounder, Ashleigh Gardner, was bought by the Gujarat Titans for Rs. 3.2 Cr in the maiden WPL auction. A game changer on and off the field, Gardner is an integral part of the Gujarat-based franchise. In her 25 WPL games, the Australian allrounder has amassed 567 runs at an impressive strike rate of 141.75. 

2) Deepti Sharma to UP Warriorz - Rs. 3.2 Cr (2026)

The hero for the Indian women’s team in the recently played ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, Deepti Sharma, was acquired for a massive Rs. 3.2 Cr by the UP Warriorz. This makes her the most elaborate bid in the WPL 2026 auction and the joint-second-most-expensive player in the tournament's history.

1) Smriti Mandhana to Royal Challengers Bangalore - Rs. 3.4 Cr (2023)

The face of Indian women’s cricket, Smriti Mandhana, even in the 5th of the tournament, remains the most expensive player in the WPL history. Royal Challengers Bangalore women acquired the services of their captain at a whopping Rs. 3.4 Cr in the inaugural WPL season 2023. 

Under Mandhana’s guidance, RCB won their maiden trophy in the franchise journey. She remains one of the most valuable players.
