The two-time Women's Premier League (WPL) champions Mumbai Indians went into the first-ever mega auction after retaining their core group of five players, led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, alongside the experienced Nat Sciver-Brunt among the names.
After retaining five players, MI-W had 13 spots left, including four overseas to complete their squad, with a budget of 5.75 crore (INR) left to spend.

The two-time WPL champion with MI and an integral part of their existing squad, New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr was their most expensive buy in the mega auction. They went in a bid-war with UP Warriorz, who had the maximum purse, but bought back their White Ferns star at 3 crore (INR).

Conclusion
MI continued with their culture of backing the exisitng squad members and tried to get them back into the mix. Their first pick of Amelia Kerr at 3 crore showed their strong intentions of going for the third title with a squad as close to the 2023-25 roster. They went on to get back Shabnim Ismail, Sajeevan Sajana and Saika Ishaque who have also played a role for them in the last two season.
