Bangladesh has taken a prudent step to prioritize the health of their players amidst severe air pollution in Delhi. The team, led by director Khaled Mahmud, decided to cancel their training session in the city on Friday due to concerns about the deteriorating air quality.

Mahmud himself struggled with a persistent cough during a press briefing, highlighting the adverse impact of pollution on their squad.

The Bangladesh team had arrived in Delhi in preparation for their World Cup match against Sri Lanka, scheduled for November 6. Initially, they had planned three training sessions at Arun Jaitley Stadium, with the first one set for Friday evening.

However, Delhi declared an air emergency as the air quality index exceeded 400 in various areas of the city, prompting the government to close schools for two days and impose restrictions on construction and vehicle traffic.

To protect their players from the harmful effects of pollution, Bangladesh has rescheduled their training sessions. Their Saturday session will also be in the evening, and on Sunday, they are set to train from 2pm. Despite these challenges,

Bangladesh remains focused on their upcoming match against Sri Lanka, which is scheduled for the 6th of November.
