On Monday, December 23, Mumbai all-rounder Tanush Kotian earned his maiden India call-up after he was added to India's squad for the last two-Tests. The development comes days after Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement mid-way through the series. 

The BCCI is yet to officially announce Kotian's selection, but there are reports that the domestic star will fly to Australia on Tuesday. Meanwhile, India will lock horns against Australia in the fourth Test on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). While, Kotian remains to be a top-figure in Mumbai's domestic set-up, this article will shed light on his IPL journey and how he has fared in the shortest format of the game in the cash-studded league.

Rajasthan Royals Buy Tanush Kotian In IPL 2024

It is worth noting that the 26-year-old has played just a solitary IPL game in his career. He made his debut in the cash-studded league in IPL 2024 when Rajasthan Royals roped him in as Adam Zampa's replacement. 

In his solitary match, the all-rounder didn't get a single over, but had a chance to showcase his prowess as a batter and amassed 24 runs against Punjab Kings on April 13, 2024. Also, Kotian got to play alongside R Ashwin, whom he just replaced in the BGT squad.

Tanush Kotian Goes Unsold In IPL 2025

Talking about IPL 2025, RR released Kotian from the squad ahead of the mega-auction. He entered the auction, but found no bidders and went unsold. Although, it is likely that he might again return to a team as a replacement.
