Will Suryakumar Yadav Play MI's Next IPL 2024 Match vs RR? BCCI Reveals

As per emerging reports, swashbuckling Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav will miss a few more matches in the ongoing Indian Premier League season. 

Quoting a BCCI source, the Press Trust Of India has reported that the explosive middle-order batter needs some more time to regain match fitness. Therefore, he will be out of action for some more days and will miss MI's subsequent matches in the IPL 2024. 

"Surya is making very good progress and very soon he will be back playing for MI. However, he might have to sit out for a few more games, having missed the first two," the BCCI source said. 

Notably, Suryakumar Yadav underwent sports hernia surgery after an ankle injury ruled him out of India's much-anticipated tour of South Africa. The experienced batter has been in rehabilitation since then and has missed out on plenty of action. 

In Suryakumar's absence, Mumbai Indians, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, have used young batter Naman Dhir as their number three. 

Although Dhir has grabbed the limelight through consecutive blazing cameos, the underwhelming performance from the other players has led to MI's horrendous defeats in the competition. 

After succumbing to a narrow six-run loss against Gujarat Titans, the five-time champions were handed a 31-run drubbing by Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday evening. Up next, they will take on Rajasthan Royals in match 14 of the tournament on April 1.
