After celebrating their ICC T20 World Cup victory in Delhi, which included a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team has headed to Mumbai. They will have an open-top bus parade along Marine Drive to the iconic Wankhede Stadium starting at 5:00 PM.
This special celebratory parade will take place between 5:00 and 7:00 PM in Mumbai, with extensive security measures in place to ensure the safety of both players and fans. The parade will begin at Nariman Point and conclude at Wankhede Stadium.
Rain to affect Team India's victory parade?
Upon their return to India, the team received a warm welcome at the Delhi airport on Thursday morning, with fans and supporters braving the rain to catch a glimpse of the victorious squad. Hundreds of supporters gathered outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport to congratulate the team on their historic win, marking India's first ICC trophy in 11 years.
An even larger group of fans is expected to follow the team's bus journey in Mumbai. However, the celebratory ride might be affected by the monsoon season.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), while the city experienced sunny to partly cloudy skies on Thursday morning, light rains and possible thundershowers are forecasted for later in the day. There is a chance that rain could dampen the celebrations.
