was forced to retire hurt early in the Indian innings against West Indies in the third T20I. The cricketer pulled a muscle near his waist in just the second over of the Indian run-chase at the Warner Park.

The Indian captain clubbed a six and a four off West Indies’ pacer Alzarri Joseph before succumbing to injury. Team physio Kamlesh Jain rushed on to the field and a few minutes later, the opening batsman walked off retired hurt.

According to a recent update from the BCCI, Rohit Sharma has a back spasm. The medical team is already monitoring the cricketer’s progress.

As of now, it is yet to be determined if the veteran will be fit in time for the remaining two matches of the series.
