On Monday, India's chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, and newly appointed coach, Gautam Gambhir, discussed about the upcoming changes in Men In Blue during the pre-departure press conference in Mumbai.
Among the various names, a name that one might have heard a lot in the past few days, KL Rahul, also popped up as Agarkar questioned why KL, who currently leads Lucknow Super Giants, gets ignored for captaincy.
BCCI recently announced that Suryakumar Yadav will be succeeding Rohit Sharma as the next captain of Team India.
Agarkar handled the tricky query on KL Rahul being ignored for captaincy with similar eloquence and responded very smartly as he said:
"I wasn't there when KL was superseded; I wasn't the selector firstly."
Recently, KL's name has been the talk of the town, eversince reports have emerged that he is likely to leave Lucknow SuperGiants and join his old team Royal Challengers Bengaluru where in he will replacing Faf du Plessis as the next skipper.
KL Rahul was LSG's skipper from IPL 2022 to IPL 2024, however his relationship with the owner Sanjiv Goenka has come out to be sweet and salty as per rumors.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul will next be seen in action during India tour of Sri Lanka's ODI series starting on August 2nd.
