The Indian Premier League (IPL) has got a new star in the form of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The Rajasthan Royals opener smashed a 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans on Monday and etched his name in the history books as the teenager broke several records.

RR were in a tricky run-chase against one of the best bowling units of the league, but Suryavanshi broke their bowling attack with his knock and also became the youngest centurion in IPL history. This was the fastest century in IPL by an Indian and Suryavanshi certainly grabbed headlines for all the right reasons.

However, after the stellar knock, some of the MS Dhoni fans and Rohit Sharma fans took their chance and mocked Virat Kohli.

Why Virat Kohli was mocked?

For starters, there is a general conception that Kohli plays T20 cricket with a low-strike rate and plays for his own records rather than winning games for his team.

In this IPL season, he is the second highest run-getter, but has a strike-rate of 139, and as a result, the two fanbases of Rohit and MSD mocked Kohli and urged him to learn from Suryavanshi.

Suryavanshi's knock dismantles GT

GT batted first and the reliable duo of Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill took the aggressive route and added 93 runs for the opening wicket. Sudharsan also became the leading run-getter of the tournament and once the openers did their job, Jos Buttler played the finishing knock and helped the team post 209.

However, the chase proved to be a cakewalk due to Suryavanshi's brilliance. The opener smacked a brilliant hundred and alongside a classy 70 from Jaiswal, he steered the team past the winning line inside 16 overs.
