Kane Williamson is set to make his Pakistan Super League (PSL) debut through the ongoing 2025 season. While the former New Zealand captain was roped in by the Karachi Kings franchise earlier this year, the cricketer is yet to join the squad in Pakistan.
Williamson is currently in India as part of the commentary panel for the IPL 2025 season. Here, we will reveal the date on which the cricketer will be joining the Karachi group for his maiden PSL gig.
Kane Williamson to join Karachi Kings on THIS date
As per sources within the Karachi Kings team management, former New Zealand captain and legendary batter Kane Williamson will be joining the franchise for the PSL 2025 season on either April 23 or April 24. Williamson already missed Karachi Kings’ opening match of the season against Multan Sultans on April 12 last weekend.
He will also miss his team’s upcoming match against the Lahore Qalandars on Tuesday, April 15 at the National Stadium in Karachi. In his absence, the Karachi Kings franchise has roped in rising star Saad Baig as a partial replacement.
As per his estimated joining, the legendary New Zealand cricketer will have missed the first five games of Karachi Kings. He will be available to face the Quetta Gladiators franchise on April 25 in Lahore.
Karachi Kings in PSL 2025 so far
Under the leadership of new captain David Warner, the Karachi Kings franchise pulled off a sensational 235-run heist against Multan Sultans in the third match of the tournament. Batting second, James Vince at number three plundered 101 runs from just 43 balls with 14 boundaries and four huge sixes, while Khushdil Shah belted 37-ball 60 to storm the Kings to a dramatic four-wicket victory in 19.2 overs.
