On April 14, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pulled off a solid win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in an exciting match at Lucknow’s home ground. The credit goes to a strong team effort, and once again, MS Dhoni stole the show with his classic style.
In the 30th match of IPL 2025, Dhoni played a key role in helping CSK win a last-over thriller. He smashed 26 runs off just 11 balls during the chase, helping his team grab their second win of the season.

But fans got a bit worried when Dhoni showed signs of discomfort. While keeping wickets earlier in the match, he looked like he was in pain, especially after a brilliant run-out of Abdul Samad. Even though he seemed uneasy, Dhoni still came out to bat when CSK needed over 10 runs per over in the last five overs.
Sticking to powerful strokes, the 43-year-old avoided running too much between the wickets. He was focused on hitting boundaries rather than taking quick singles. After the match, he was seen limping while walking down the stairs from the dressing room. Later, while receiving the Player of the Match award - his first in seven years - he was clearly not walking comfortably.
Back at the hotel in Lucknow, Dhoni was again spotted limping in the lobby, which raised concerns about a possible injury. A video of him limping has gone viral, with fans praising his dedication to the game, while others are hoping it’s nothing serious.
MS Dhoni finished the game in his trademark style, staying unbeaten with 26 runs from 11 balls, including four fours and one six. His partnership with Shivam Dube turned out to be the game-changer. After the match, Dhoni also said that winning more matches in the league stage is important if a team wants to win the tournament.
Even though CSK got the win, they are still at the bottom of the IPL points table, with just 2 wins in 7 matches so far. Their next game is against Mumbai Indians at their home ground in Chennai on April 20.
