Indian cricket team’s backbone, Virat Kohli, is the last person to leave for New York for the upcoming T20 World Cup as the batter was spotted at the Mumbai Airport just hours ago to board his flight to the USA.

The 2024 T20 World Cup will commence from June 2 whereas the Indian cricket team will begin their campaign on June 5 against Ireland before they face arch rivals Pakistan in a high-voltage clash in New York on June 9.

That being said, India is scheduled to play a warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1 for which the majority of the selected squad has landed in the USA, except for veteran batter Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli wasn’t a part of the first batch of players that left for the States since he was busy with IPL playoffs. But after crashing out of the eliminator stage, Kohli took some time off and delayed his flight by a couple of days.

Regardless, the wait is over, as Virat Kohli is finally leaving for New York today. Just hours ago, he was spotted at the Mumbai Airport by paparazzis as they wished him the best for the upcoming event. Kohli posed for a photo before signing a few autographs for the kids waiting for him at the terminal.

Having said that, it’s still unclear if Virat Kohli will participate in the warm-up clash on June 1.

Nevertheless, Virat Kohli is coming off a terrific IPL 2024 season where he ended up as the leading run scorer of the tournament (741 runs in 15 games). Hence, his readiness for the T20 World Cup is not a concern at the moment.
