Following the successful launch of Major League Cricket (MLC), plans are underway to establish a women's cricket league featuring top female cricket superstars in the world.

The USA is set to co-host the Men's T20 World Cup alongside the West Indies, with the tournament kicking off this week. As cricket gains popularity in the country, the USA is planning to invest more in the sport.

Cricket will also be part of the 2028 Olympics, further fueling the sport's momentum in the USA. Influential figures in American cricket believe there is a unique opportunity to grow domestic interest in the women's game.

MLC Women's in plans

This initiative could've drawn inspiration from the Women's Premier League (WPL) in India, which has already proven to be a massive success.

The USA women's cricket team, which has never participated in any ICC trophies, will naturally qualify for the 2028 Olympics as the host nation.

Reports indicate that franchise owners in Major League Cricket (MLC) are open to the prospect of developing women's teams alongside their existing men's sides.

This move is expected to improve the growth of women's cricket in the USA, providing more opportunities for female cricketers and increasing the sport's popularity.
