Vaibhav Arora has received a hero’s welcome in his hometown of Ambala after lifting the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 trophy for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise.

In late-May, i.e., a few days after the IPL 2024 final at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium, the 26-year-old returned to his hometown only to get mobbed and greeted by a number of overenthusiastic fans in the Haryana city.

Vaibhav Arora, who dismissed SRH’s danger-man Travis Head for a first-ball duck in the high-octane IPL 2024 final on May 26, finished with match-winning figures of 1-24 in the game.

His new-ball blitz, coupled with Mitchell Starc’s thunderbolts and timely breakthroughs from Andre Russell and Harshit Rana enveloped SRH’s famed batting line-up for just 113.

KKR batters easily overhauled their meagre target with 9.3 overs and eight wickets to spare to lift the IPL 2024 trophy and their first in nearly 10 years.

A couple of days after KKR’s moment of triumph, key contributor Vaibhav Arora returned to his hometown of Ambala where he received a grand welcome from a number of eagerly-awaiting fans.

The cricketer even posed for selfies alongside some of his fans while others expressed their joy in welcoming the local hero.

Vaibhav Arora clipped 11 wickets in 10 matches for the KKR franchise during the IPL 2024 season. The Haryana-based fast bowler even packed match-winning figures of 3-27 against Delhi Capitals in one of the games in April.

In the first qualifier, Vaibhav dismissed SRH opener Abhishek Sharma, and trapped Travis Head for a duck roughly a week later in the finals.
