Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav, known for his flamboyant batting style, recently surprised cricket fans by going undercover as a cameraman for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of India's high-voltage World Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka on Thursday, November 2.

Surya surprised Marine Drive crowd by going undercover as cameraman

Suryakumar cleverly disguised himself, donning a full shirt to hide his distinctive tattoos, and wearing a mask and a hat to conceal his identity. He ventured out to Mumbai's iconic Marine Drive, where he engaged with fans and inquired about their thoughts on the Indian team's performance.

Fans passionately expressed their admiration for players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, praising the team's exceptional form in the tournament. However, to his amusement and slight disappointment, Surya's name remained absent from their discussions.

In a light-hearted moment, one fan candidly discussed Surya's batting skills and expressed a desire to see him promoted up the batting order. Despite humbly stating that he had no authority to comment on his batting, the fan expressed hope for the Mumbai Indians star’s continued success.

Another fan commended Surya's wristy strokes and described the joy of watching him bat with finesse. At this point, the 33-year-old decided to remove his mask and reveal his true identity, leaving the fan astounded. Surya graciously took pictures with the delighted fans before concluding his day as the undercover cameraman.

It is worth mentioning that Surya's performance in India's previous group-stage match against England garnered attention. In a challenging situation where India's top order collapsed, the right-hander displayed great fight, contributing a gritty 49 runs off 47 balls. His efforts helped India reach a total of over 200 runs, which ultimately led to a thumping 100-run victory.

As it stands, India is the sole undefeated team in the tournament, showcasing their exceptional form. Their next challenge awaits against Sri Lanka in their seventh group stage game, promising another exciting clash.
