Some sights in cricket never get old and the ball meeting the middle of Sachin Tendulkar’s bat is one of them. The Master Blaster is back in the nets, and just like that, the cricket world is buzzing again.

Sachin Tendulkar Turned Back The Clock As He Hit the Nets Ahead Of IML

Mumbai Indians, his beloved IPL franchise, gave fans a pleasant surprise by sharing a video of the legend rolling back the years. And it’s not just for fun. Sachin Tendulkar is preparing for serious business.

The batting icon is all set to lead Team India in the International Masters League (IML), a tournament bringing together some of the biggest cricketing names from the past.

It’s been more than a decade since Sachin Tendulkar bid farewell to international cricket, but his impact hasn’t faded one bit. Now, he’s dusting off the old playbook, getting ready to take centre stage again in the IML, running from February 22 to March 16.

Mumbai Indians Fuel the Hype

Mumbai Indians couldn’t contain their excitement, sharing a clip of Tendulkar back in the nets. Their post on X read:

"Look who we saw in the nets from our windows."

Fans, of course, went into meltdown mode, watching their childhood hero effortlessly middling deliveries like he never left. Seeing him shadow bat, play those signature drives, and step out with his old intent is enough to stir up nostalgia.

Tendulkar’s Take on the International Masters League

For Sachin, this is about celebrating cricket’s rich legacy. Ahead of the tournament, the man with 100 international centuries spoke about what the IML means to him:

"The IML will be a celebration of cricket’s unique and enduring legacy. I can’t wait to step back onto the field with my contemporaries in a league that will be intense and competitive, with all the teams playing hard, but fair."

India will kick off the tournament against Sri Lanka, led by none other than Kumar Sangakkara, on the opening day. But that’s just the start. Brian Lara, Jacques Kallis, Eoin Morgan, and Shane Watson will also be in action, leading teams from West Indies, South Africa, England, and Australia, respectively.

With Sunil Gavaskar overseeing the event as the tournament commissioner, this isn’t just an exhibition, it’s a serious contest between some of the greatest cricketers ever. It will be interesting to see how the God of Cricket fares on his return to competitive cricket.
