Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma landed in Mumbai earlier today as he returned from South Africa following the conclusion of a gripping two-game Test series.

Sharma led his team to victory in the shortest Test game at Cape Town, which ended in under two days. The much-needed win helped the men in blue level the series by 1-1 as the captains shared the trophy.

Meanwhile, the skipper made his way back home earlier today and was greeted by a group of airport crew. Despite coming off a long flight journey, Rohit Sharma obliged the crew's request for a photo and was captured on his way out by the paparazzi.

Rohit Sharma Slams Critics In A Heated Press Conference

Having said that, before departing from the Rainbow Nation, the Indian captain dropped bombshells during his post-game interview. While addressing the adverse pitch conditions in Cape Town, Sharma called out the hypocrisy of the West when it comes to rating Indian turning pitches.

The skipper added that authorities are okay if the ball seems to be from ball one. But when it turns in India, suddenly, it becomes a survival concern for Test cricket.

Rohit Sharma reckoned that he did not intend to call out the dual standards, but the ICC rating the World Cup final pitch as poor triggered him. The batter argued that Travis Head scored a hundred on Ahmedabad's pitch. Yet it's average. But a Test game is being concluded in less than two days. Yet the pitch conditions are deemed appropriate.

Sharma made it clear that he won't entertain such dual standards henceforth. As long as critics keep their mouths shut concerning pitch quality in India, he won't mind fielding in seam-friendly pitches.

That being said, India is scheduled to host England in a five-game Test series later this month. Needless to say, the conversation around pitch conditions will once again gain momentum, and it will be interesting to see Rohit's stand on the criticism.
