The BCCI is still to reveal the squad for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan, set to commence on January 11. As the announcement lingers, it's apparent that the chief selection committee is deliberating on the captaincy in the absence of Hardik Pandya.

Suryakumar Yadav, the stylish right-handed batter who captained Team India in the T20I series against Australia and South Africa, is currently sidelined due to an injury sustained during the tour. Consequently, he will miss the upcoming Afghanistan series, further complicating the squad selection.

Amid the ongoing wait, a particular T20 World Cup poster caused a stir on social media, sparking intense discussions among dedicated fans of the Indian cricket team.

After the major revelation, Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the ICC event, released a poster highlighting the India-Pakistan clash. The image featured Shaheen Afridi, the newly-appointed captain of Pakistan, alongside Hardik representing India.

The poster stirred up a storm on social media, leaving everyone guessing if it spilled the beans on Rohit Sharma being replaced by the all-rounder for T20I captaincy. Notably, Hardik Pandya has sort of been leading the squad in Rohit's absence from the format since the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Take a look at some of the reactions from fans:

The International Cricket Council (ICC) disclosed the 2024 T20 World Cup fixtures on Friday. The United States of America and the West Indies will co-host the event, which is scheduled to take place from June 1 with the final set to be played on June 29.

India is set to kick off their World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York, followed by an anticipated clash against Pakistan at the same venue. The group stage further includes matches against hosts USA and Canada.
