After making an individually fruitful return to Mumbai Indians (MI) colours with the bat against the Gujarat Titans (GT), former MI skipper Rohit Sharma reached Hyderabad for his team's next IPL 2024 clash versus hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). 

The experienced opener blazed his way to 43 off 29 deliveries, including 7 fours and a maximum, to emerge as one of MI's positives from their gutwrenching six-run defeat against the Titans in Ahmedabad. 

The 36-year-old continued his great form from the recent Test series against England where the Indian skipper smashed centuries in Rajkot and Dharamshala. 

Despite the controversy surrounding his sacking from MI's leadership post with comeback man Hardik Pandya taking over, Rohit also appeared in a jovial mood during the franchise's Holi celebrations on Monday (March 25) with his wife Ritika and daughter Samaira. 


Rohit Reaches Hyderabad For Sunrisers Clash 

Following the celebrations, Rohit embarked on the journey from Mumbai to Hyderabad with the rest of the MI squad and was greeted by his passionate fanbase at the airport, with a huge crowd present to catch a glimpse of one of the leading Indian cricketers and still the biggest face of the Mumbai franchise. 

After maintaining a tight lip about his removal from captaincy, Rohit gave his best with the bat at the top of the order in the bout with the Gujarat franchise, whose fans booed their former skipper Pandya upon his comeback to Ahmedabad following his controversial return to Mumbai set-up. 

For Rohit, it was his first opportunity in a decade since he was handed the MI captaincy back in 2013 to play freely without carrying the extra responsibility on his shoulder and the esteemed batter relished it, unveiling his enterprising blitz before his untimely dismissal rained on MI's parade towards the target and they lost by 6 runs.
