Rohit Sharma and the rest of his teammates received a booming welcome in Ahmedabad as they were making their way to the team hotel. The Indian team arrived to the city a day after ravaging New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium, to set themselves up for a spot in the World Cup 2023 final.
As one can expect, hordes of Indian cricket fans gathered outside the team hotel to welcome the players as they were making their way from the Ahmedabad airport during the rush hours of Thursday, November 16.
Indian players get hero’s welcome in Ahmedabad
The Indian cricket team arrived in Ahmedabad on November 16, i.e., a day after routing New Zealand in the first semifinal of the 2023 World Cup. As the players were making their way from Ahmedabad airport to the hotel by bus, a legion of fans gathered at each side of the road to welcome the team to the city.

The Indian team also attended the iconic Ahmedabad venue earlier in the tournament to go up against arch-rivals Pakistan. The ‘Men in Blue’ emerged victorious in their high-profile clash off the back of collective bowling efforts and dazzling run-chase batting masterclasses from captain Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer.
Team India continues to remain the only unbeaten side of the competition, having won each of their nine World Cup 2023 league fixtures before handing out a 70-run drubbing to New Zealand in the semifinals.
Securing the top spot on the points table, Sharma and co. will now turn up for the title clash, scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.
