As the the 16th edition of the Asia Cup is all set to begin on September 30. All eyes are riveted on the much-anticipated showdown between arch rivals India and Pakistan. The clash between these two cricketing giants is scheduled for September 2 at the Pallekele stadium in Kandy. However, there's a cloud of uncertainty looming as the weather forecast predicts a high likelihood of rain, which could potentially dampen the spirits of fans.

The Asia Cup 2023, jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, is slated to run from August 30 to September 17. The tournament, featuring 50-over ODI matches, will be held at international standard venues. The inaugural match is set to take place in Multan, where Pakistan will face off against Nepal, setting the stage for a captivating series of matches.

According to weather.com, the day is expected to bring a high temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and a low of 22 degrees Celsius in the morning. With a 90% chance of rain and winds ranging between 10 to 15 km/h, coupled with the possibility of thunderstorms, the prospects of the Asia Cup contenders, India and Pakistan, locking horns on this day might be dwindling. Nevertheless, fans worldwide are keeping their fingers crossed, hoping for a cricketing spectacle that transcends the weather's unpredictable twists.

India will face Nepal at the same location, Pallekele, Kandy where the weather conditions remains uncertain, with rain a 70% chance of rain. 

The Asia Cup is all set to unfold from August 30 to September 137, with matches beginning at 3:00 PM (IST). While Pakistan is hosting 4 matches of the Asia Cup 2023, the rest of the tournament will take place in Sri Lanka.
