Rishabh Pant recently made his return to competitive cricket through the IPL 2024 season as Delhi Capitals skipper. Back in December 2022, the dashing wicketkeeper-batter was involved in a near-fatal car accident which subsequently kept him out of action for 15 months.

With Pant regaining some lost batting rhythm in IPL 2024 for the Capitals, the 26-year-old is set to join the Indian squad for next week’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA.

As Team India gears up for their upcoming venture, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently released an uplifting T20 World Cup 2024 teaser featuring an inspiring speech from comeback man Rishabh Pant.

On May 28, the BCCI released an uplifting video for India’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. The video in contention featured Rishabh Pant, where he can be seen chronicling his journey back into the Indian squad after recovering from the injuries he sustained during the December 2022 car mishap.

In a video equal part cinematic and patriotic, Pant can be heard saying:

“From that day, a longing still remains. In a corner of the heart, a beat’s unfulfilled refrain. I’ve found my footing, risen to my feet. But for India, I remain to stand complete.”

Tuning up for the 2024 T20 World Cup, Rishabh Pant tallied 446 runs in 13 innings of the IPL 2024 season at an average of 40.54. The cricketer listed three half-centuries in the process and maintained a staggering strike rate of over 155 in the tournament.

Pant and the rest of his Indian colleagues are slated to face Ireland on June 5 to commence their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. The match will be hosted by the Nassau County International Stadium in New York.
