Star Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has returned to cricket in the IPL after a lengthy break after the accident. 

Now, after 16 months, he has participated in his first nets session with the Indian team ahead of the T20 World Cup, which kicks off for India on June 5th with a match against Ireland.

As the T20 World Cup approaches, the Indian team is deeply engrossed in their practice sessions under the guidance of head coach Rahul Dravid. This World Cup holds special significance as it marks Dravid's final stint as the coach of the Indian team.

In a heartening video for the Indian fans shared on the Instagram account of the Indian Cricket Team, Rishabh Pant was seen batting in the Indian nets. Before the start of the practice session, he was seen sharing a light moment with Suryakumar Yadav. Pant expressed how much he missed spending time with Surya during his time away from the national team. 

Rishabh Pant took a break from cricket after the horrific accident that happened in December 2022. He missed important tournaments like the World Test Championship final and the ODI World Cup in that period. 

Rishabh Pant returned to cricket after the long break in IPL 2024. When he returned to play for Delhi Capitals, he faced some challenges initially. But gradually, he got his rhythm back.

He led the team as captain, lifting them from a rough start to a better position in the league. Delhi Capitals finished at 6th in table in IPL 2024.

Pant looked fitter, leaner and stronger than before, showing his determination to succeed. With the T20 World Cup starting in a week, Pant will be determined to show the world that he  is back.

Rishabh Pant will face competition from Sanju Samson for a place in the playing eleven.
