Kolkata Knight Riders teammates Rinku Singh and Rahmanullah Gurbaz seem to be penning their own adventures on the sidelines of Afghanistan’s ongoing three-match T20I series against hosts India.

After Team India outclassed Afghanistan by six wickets at Mohali in the series opener, the two players were spotted hugging and celebrating their camaraderie, showcasing a bond beyond boundaries in the cricketing arena.

As the action now shifts to Indore’s Holkar Stadium, Gurbaz were spotted poking Rinku in his sleep during their team flight to the Madhya Pradesh-based city.

On January 12, i.e., a couple of days prior to Afghanistan’s second T20I against India, visiting opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz took to his Instagram account to share a hilarious short video of himself during team flight. In the footage, Gurbaz can be seen poking Rinku Singh in his sleep.

Singh, in response, laughingly acknowledged his IPL teammates’ harmless misdemeanor before the two engaged in a seemingly friendly chat with each other.

In the caption, the Afghanistan opening batsman jokingly wrote:

“Sorry janii😂”

On the cricketing front, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a brisk 23 at Mohali in the first T20I and shared a 50-run opening partnership with captain Ibrahim Zadran. Afghanistan eventually gathered 158-5 from their 20 overs off the back of Mohammad Nabi’s 27-ball 42 and handy runs from Azmatullah Omarzai and Najibullah Zadran.

Team India overhauled their target with 15 balls to spare, with Shivam Dube’s 40-ball 60* becoming the headline act of the run-chase. Rinku Singh himself clubbed a few in the slog overs to reach an unbeaten 16 to seal the deal for India.

The two sides will now collide in round two of their three-match series at Indore’s Holkar Stadium on January 14.
