Promising Indian explosive opening batter Prithvi Shaw encountered a rough phase during the latest IPL season held earlier this year. He scored a mere 106 runs across eight innings in what turned out to be a disastrous IPL campaign for Delhi Capitals.

Shaw looked out of touch and was dismissed in the same fashion more than once. With that, his confidence took a hit, and repetitive snubs from national selection further demoralized him.

However, Prithvi Shaw defied all odds to continue the grind with Northamptonshire in the domestic one-day competition. He slammed 429 runs in just four innings before the injury played spoilsport.

A knee injury not only ended his stint with Northamptonshire but also forced him to miss a major chunk of the Indian domestic season.

Shaw Gearing Up For Comeback After Injury Layoff!

Meanwhile, after nearly a three-month-long injury layoff, Prithvi Shaw is back in action. He recently shared an Instagram story wherein the opener is seen hitting the nets, trying to middle the ball and regain his lost rhythm.

Shaw captioned the story, stating, "What a feeling after three months." While the timeline for Shaw's full return to competitive cricket remains uncertain, the sight of him back in the nets is undoubtedly a positive development for Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2024 IPL season.

Amid rumours of potential axing, Delhi Capitals retained Prithvi Shaw at the deadline, thus placing their trust and faith in the batter's abilities and unwavering talent.

The next IPL season is still four months away, which allows Shaw to proceed with caution as he navigates through his recovery process.

However, the opening batter has to step up next season, with captain Rishabh Pant's participation still uncertain. If Pant misses out, the responsibility of running production will fall on his shoulders.

The next IPL season will undoubtedly make or break his pursuit of a potential promotion to the Indian side.
