Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill notched up match-winning opening stands against Nepal and Pakistan in successive matches this Asia Cup 2023. In team’s subsequent Super Four outings, Sharma charted a decisive 53 against tournament co-hosts Sri Lanka while Gill produced a majestic century against Bangladesh in a dead-rubber.

As the two brace themselves for team’s Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka in Colombo, captain Sharma was seen shouting at his junior opening partner at the team hotel.

A day before the all-important Asia Cup 2023 final in Colombo, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was spotted shouting casually at his batting partner Shubman Gill. The youngster seems to have agitated his senior teammate near the elevator of the team hotel, as Sharma can be heard responding:

“Arre aisa nahi hoga, pagal hai kya?” (this can’t happen, are you crazy?)

Regardless of their seemingly friendly banter, both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill along with the rest of their Indian teammates will take field at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium in pursuit of the 2023 Asia Cup title on September 17. The match will commence at 3:00 PM (IST).

Gill is currently the leading run-getter of the competition, having minted 275 of them at an average of 68.75. Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are the next highest in the list among Indians, with each of them clicking with the bat for their country at some stage this competition.
