As the Indian team took on Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2023's Super Fours match on Friday in Colombo, two of its prominent players, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya were absent from the playing XI as they were given a break.

This tactical rest, however, didn't dim their dedication one bit, with Kohli taking on an impromptu role as a water boy, and both stars energetically gearing up for practice towards the end.

Although the match was inconsequential for the tournament's progression, having already secured a spot in the final against Sri Lanka, India's loss by a narrow margin of six runs has caught everyone's attention.

The action shifted to Kohli and Pandya during the dying overs of the Indian innings. With just an over to go, Kohli was spotted padding up for a batting session, indicating the hunger and dedication of the former captain.

On the other hand, Hardik took a lap around the stadium, ensuring he remained in top physical form. The commitment of Kohli and Hardik signalled their readiness for the much-anticipated final against Sri Lanka.

Coming to the IND vs BAN game, Bangladesh set a competitive total of 265/8 in their 50 overs, thanks to a splendid 80 off 85 balls from the experienced Shakib Al Hasan and a fighting 54 off 81 deliveries by Towid Hridoy. Despite the early loss of wickets, the duo put on a commendable partnership, ensuring a defendable score for their bowlers.

In response, Shubman Gill played a magnificent innings, scoring 121 off 133 balls, which was filled with five sixes and eight boundaries. Axar Patel's late onslaught of 42 from just 34 balls couldn’t get India over the line, with the team folding up for 259 in 49.5 overs.
