Pakistan's captain across all formats, Babar Azam, known for his composed demeanor, showcased a humorous side during a pre-departure press conference ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023 in India.

During the press conference, a reporter asked Babar if he would ever sing for his fans.

In response, Babar delivered a light-hearted quip, saying,

"Unhone already itni awaaz nikaal di hai, mai ghabra gaya ki meri awaaz kaha se chali gayi (They've already created many versions of my voice, and I was afraid of how my voice has changed)."

In his reply, Babar was referring to AI-generated versions of his voice.

Coming to his professional front, In the year 2023, Babar has been sensational with the bat. In this ongoing year, he has accumulated 745 runs in 15 ODI innings at an impressive average of 49.67, including two centuries and six half-centuries. His overall record in one-day cricket is remarkable, with 5409 runs in 108 matches at a stellar average of 58.16. This includes 19 centuries and 28 half-centuries.

After a disappointing performance in the Asia Cup, where they finished at the bottom of the Super Four table, Pakistan will be eager to secure their first 50-over World Cup title since 1992.

Their journey in the tournament will commence with warm-up matches, with the first scheduled for September 29 in Hyderabad and the second against Australia at the same venue on October 3.
