Ahead of India's much-awaited clash against arch-nemesis Pakistan on June 9 at the Nassau County Stadium in New York, Men in Green's star seamer Mohammad Amir shed more details on one of the most respected moments in cricket when Virat Kohli gifted him one of his bats.

It was during the 2016 World Cup in India when ahead of the Indo-Pak clash, Virat and Amir greeted each other during the practice session and made it to the news after Virat gifted him a bat.

In the latest events, Amir revealed how he convinced the former India captain to get the bat.

Speaking with Star Sports, the left-arm seamer stated that during the Asia Cup in Bangladesh, he and Imad Wasim were in a gallery where they crossed paths with Virat who had a bat in his hand.

Meanwhile, he added that Imad started checking the bat which is when he told Kohli to leave Imad and hand over the bat to him.

According to Amir, Kohli promised to gift him a bat when Pakistan would arrive in India for the 2016 T20 World Cup. Eventually, Virat kept his promise and gifted his MRF bat to Amir.

The upcoming clash between India & Pakistan is a must-win for the Men in Green as they suffered an embarrassing defeat against the USA in their opening match.
