On Monday, the high-flying Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will engage in a fierce battle with the formidable Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their stronghold in Chepauk. This upcoming clash, featuring captains Shreyas Iyer and Ruturaj Gaikwad, is being touted as a monumental showdown, reminiscent of the legendary clashes between MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir.

Before the clash of the titans, the two-time champions uploaded a video with an intense background score featuring their mentor, Gambhir, and MS Dhoni - alongside his CSK mates - in the blurred backdrop.

The video also shows KKR's two-time captain giving a cold stare to Dhoni, Moeen Ali and Daryl Mitchell; who seem practising on the eve of the CSK vs KKR clash.

The heroes from India's 2011 World Cup final victory share a long history of love and hate, with their relationship going south side after India's triumph 13 years ago. 

Over the years, Gambhir and Dhoni have shared a few controversial episodes, which included the KKR mentor not shaking hands with the CSK star during a Vijay Hazare Trophy game back in 2015-16 and the infamous aggressive field setup put in Gambhir against MSD in IPL 2016.

The two IPL teams have played two finals against each other, with a 1-1 record. However, in head-to-head records, CSK has a substantial lead of 18-10.

Interestingly, with the duo now not at the reigns in their franchises, IPL 2024 could see another folklore added to the Gambhir-Dhoni tales.
