Jason Roy opted himself out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, in which Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the title after 10 long years under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer and mentor Gautam Gambhir.

Of course, Roy's replacement Phil Salt played a crucial role in order to make it happen. However, KKR dearly missed Roy before Salt's carnage began, as he set the stage on fire in the previous edition.

As Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 is set to get underway on July 6, Roy, who has also been signed by Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR), has seen back in Purple and Gold colours. In fact, he had a little candid conversation with the camera person before taking the centre stage by swinging hard.

Roy, 33 now, played only three matches for LAKR last year, in which he aggregated 54 runs at a strike rate of 150. He smashed five fours and four sixes, and will be looking to improve his numbers this time around.

LAKR will begin the MLC 2024 campaign by going up against Texas Super Kings on July 6.
