Team India players hilariously struggled to pronounce 'Gqeberha' as they stepped shores on the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa for the second ODI of the three-match series on Tuesday (December 19).

Stand-in captain KL Rahul & company found it difficult to take the newly established city name properly as they landed in the place for the penultimate game of the bilateral series.

Originally named 'Port Elizabeth' from colonial times, Gqeberha is the city's new political name established two years back and is a Xhosa word occasionally used to refer to the Baakens River, which flows through the city.

"What is it called? I do not know how to pronounce it," Rahul said during a funny video clip shared by the BCCI on Monday (December 18) before young Tilak Varma and experienced wristspinner and perennial prankster Yuzvendra Chahal also failed to come up with the correct pronunciation.

While Tilak called it "Gazebo", Chahal named it "Gaboora" in his own funny version. Those two were later joined in by teammates Rinku Singh and Sanju Samson. Rinku pronounced it as "Greba" before Sanju in his inimitable style said, "Thiruvananthapuram".

Team India aim to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series after dominating the opening game in Johannesburg on Sunday following the most comprehensive performance of the tour so far.

Heading into the next encounter, the tourists are set to undergo one major change in their playing XI, with middle-order stalwart Shreyas Iyer, who struck a freeflowing fifty in Jo'burg, set to leave the ODI squad to prepare for the Test series.

In his place, Madhya Pradesh and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) right-hander Rajat Patidar will be making his debut appearance for the country. The rest of the line-up should go in unchanged for the all-important bout.
