In a delight for Punjab Kings' fans, their wait is over as their star player and one of the best in the business, Glenn Maxwell, has joined the training camp ahead of IPL 2025. The preparations are in full swing as players are sweating hard in the nets with the new season set to begin on March 22 with RCB taking on KKR at Eden Gardens.
Talking about Punjab Kings, the Shreyas Iyer-led side have undergone a major overhaul as they eye their maiden IPL title. In that order, PBKS retained just two players from the previous season and bought rest of the squad at IPL 2025 mega-auction.

Further, it was a homecoming for Glenn Maxwell as the Kings roped in the Aussie for 4.2 crores. It is an emotional moment for Maxwell and PBKS fans as the right-hand batter rose to fame after his stint with Punjab. He played for Punjab from 2014-2017 and in his debut season, he smashed 552 runs, his best IPL season so far.
Following the success, he went to feature for RCB from 2021-2024, where he further shone with the bat, before returning to the Kings for another stint. In the latest events, PBKS released a special video welcoming Maxwell for the upcoming season. Watch the video here.
Punjab Kings To Start Campaign vs Gujarat Titans on March 25 at Narendra Modi Stadium. The Kings had a poor season last year, but with Iyer becoming the new captain and Ricky Ponting taking over the role of a head coach, it is to be seen how will Punjab fare in the upcoming season.
