Now Samson cast with an injury threat, the fans have turned their eye towards RR's 13-year-old buy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was picked up at the auction for a whopping 1.1 crores. The fans are curious whether the RR management shows faith in Suryavanshi and helps him become the youngest player to make his debut in the IPL.
However, in the latest events, RR batting coach Vikram Rathour has provided an update on Vaibhav's chances for IPL 2025 and his remarks have made the fans disappointed. Vikram stated that Vaibhav is young and the management is unsure whether the 13-year-old will get a game time in IPL 2025.
“I am not sure if we will use him or not, it will depend on the strategy, the surface, and the opposition. We acquired his services because he is a very special player. He has a lot of ability, he may be young but I have hardly ever seen a player this young to possess the power he has. The signs are great and if he works hard I am sure he will be a big player,” Rathour stated in a press conference.

The 13-year-old rose to fame when he made his debut for Bihar in Ranji Trophy. However, he made his name during U-19 Asia Cup 2024 where he played solid knocks. He amassed 176 runs in five matches and averaged 44.
The performance helped him earn a bidding war in IPL 2025 mega-auction where both RR and Delhi Capitals were in race to sign the southpaw.
