On Saturday, March 15, Mumbai Indians scripted history after they beat Delhi Capitals for the 2nd time in the final to win WPL title. It was the 2nd title won by MI in the three seasons held so far.

It was nail-biting final as Mumbai, batting first, lost early wickets but Harmanpreet Kaur's heroics with the bat, helped the Indians put 149 runs on the board. In reply, DC too lost wickets at regular intervals but they too came close and required 16 runs to win off the final over.

However, Nat Sciver-Brunt bowled the perfect over and her three wickets in the match helped MI register an 8-run win. The fans were on their toes and the game was certainly not for the faint-hearted. Talking about that, the players too were certainly feeling the heat and one of them was the MI skipper herself.

The camera constantly panned at Harmanpreet throughout the match and she was captured praying to god with folded hands. Even a video went viral where Harmanpreet first remembered to thank god after MI won the match. Watch the clip here.

Harmanpreet Kaur Heaps Praise On Bowlers For Epic Win

With the victory, Harmanpreet went past Smriti Mandhana to become the most successful captain in WPL history. Despite scoring a brilliant 66 (44), she thanked the bowlers for getting the job done. She remarked:

"I think 150 was not a decent total [against] DC, but matches like that are always pressure games - 150 in these kind of games always looks like 180. I think credit goes to our bowlers. They had that belief that they could give us breakthroughs in the powerplay. It was good to see Ismail bring important wickets for us, and the other side how Nat bowled."

MI won a cash prize of 6 crores after the win, while DC bagged 3 crores.
