On Saturday, March 15, the third edition of the Women's Premier League came to an end after Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals to win their 2nd title. It was an enthralling match as DC ended up losing their 3rd title in a row.

Following the win, Mumbai Indians were presented the stunning trophy and enormous cheque as the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side won a prize money of whopping six crores. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals didn't go empty handed as they too received a cheque of 3 crores.
BCCI has allocated 6 crore prize money for the winners and a 3 crore reward for the runners-up. Now since the IPL too is coming up there is no denying that the IPL is the biggest and most cash-studded league in the world. Lets compare the prize money of both WPL and IPL.
How Much Do Winners And Runners-Up Get In IPL?
The total prize money pool for IPL is 32.5 crores. Notably, the winner receives a whopping cash prize of 20 crores, while the runners-up take 12.5 crores back home. Similarly, KKR were presented with a cheque of 20 crores.
Difference Between WPL And IPL Prize Money
The difference between the prize money of both these leagues is huge. The difference between the winner's prize money of these two leagues is 14 crores. (20 crores -6 crores = 14 crores).
Talking about the percentage difference then IPL winners earn 233.3% more than WPL winners. (14/6* 100 = 233.3%.)
The amount used for IPL's prize money is for 2024 season as the details for IPL 2025 prize money hasn't been revealed so far.
