Gujarat Titans' head coach Ashish Nehra trolled India's opener Yashasvi Jaiswal with a Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli remark after the first T20I against Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on July 27.

During the ICC event, Rohit and Kohli were the openers for the victorious Indian team, while Jaiswal watched from the sidelines. Nehra used this exact point while interviewing the opener after the game.

The former India pacer mentioned that Ajay Jadeja asked him about the difference when Kohli and Rohit were opening in the shortest format.

Nehra humorously remarked that if the two stalwarts were still playing the format, Jaiswal would have been playing all destructive shots inside the nets.

Ajay Jadeja asked you what's the difference: Nehra

"Ajay Jadeja asked you what's the difference when Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were there (to open in 20Is). According to me, there is just one difference. If Virat and Rohit were still playing this format, then whatever strokes we saw from you today, you would have played those in the nets. Now you are getting to play those shots in the match because they (Virat and Rohit) are not there," said Nehra.

Jaiswal played a fiery knock of 40 from 21 balls, giving India the ideal start to their innings and setting them up for a big score. The young opener continued his meteoric rise in international cricket with this knock; however, he didn't get a chance to play in the T20 World Cup.

Following Kohli and Rohit's retirement from T20Is, Jaiswal has made the opening spot his own. After the T20 World Cup, he headed to Zimbabwe for three matches and ended up scoring 141 runs with an average of 70.50.

He has continued this good form into the Sri Lanka tour and will be in action on July 28 in the 2nd T20I.
